CORDURA® brand fabric to make Eurosatory 2014 debut
First-time exhibitor will showcase latest military, tactical, and law enforcement technologies
CORDURA® brand fabric along with INVISTA’s THERMOLITE® and COOLMAX® fabric brands will be first-time exhibitors at Eurosatory 2014 in Paris, France from June 16-20. The INVISTA booth (Hall 5 D510) will highlight gear and apparel featuring thermal performance CORDURA® NYCO fabric, No Melt/No Drip CORDURA® Baselayer fabrics, as well as Solution-Dyed Nylon (SDN) CORDURA® Classic fabrics and webbing.
“For over 45 years, CORDURA® fabric has played a critical role in high performance, durable products for military and tactical industries,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “We are looking forward to showcasing our latest CORDURA® fabric innovations at this international exhibition for land and air-land defense and security.”
CORDURA® NYCO fabrics featuring an intimate blend of cotton and high strength INVISTA T420 nylon 6,6 fiber are specifically designed to create combat uniforms that can stand up to the rigorous physical demands faced by today’s soldiers. Engineered for exceptional durability combined with comfort, these fabrics are four times more resistant to abrasion than 100% cotton fabrics and when tested under vertical flame and Thermal Protective Performance (TPP) they exhibit No Melt/No Drip thermal performance. Products featuring CORDURA® NYCO fabrics showcased at Eurosatory include the latest TRU SPEC® Multicam® Black Tactical Uniform. Comfortable, quick drying CORDURA® Baselayer fabrics combine the durability of nylon and the comfort of cotton while maintaining exceptional abrasion resistance. These fabrics are designed to handle the types of conditions today’s military, police, public safety, tactical teams and firefighters face and offer No Melt/No Drip performance when exposed to low-level thermal threats. Latest developments in the CORDURA® Baselayer collection are pique fabrics for classic polo style knit shirts from Ifateks, Turkey. CORDURA® Classic fabrics and webbings are used extensively in military combat gear, including load carriage equipment, boots and body armor covers where enhanced durability particularly excellent abrasion and tear resistance is required. INVISTA now offers Solution-Dyed Nylon (SDN) yarn featuring built-in Near Infrared (NIR) signature reduction for use in CORDURA® Classic fabrics and webbing. Meeting US military specifications, SDN based CORDURA® Classic fabrics and webbing provide enhanced color uniformity, resistance to sunlight UV fade and strength loss which can extend product life and help reduce replacement costs. A wide range of products will be displayed featuring CORDURA® Classic fabrics including Camelbak® Hydration packs, tactical ballistic vests and YDS Turkish army boots. Fabrics are available in a wide range of solid colors as well as special camouflage prints such as the German 3 color and 5 color camouflage patterns manufactured by Delcotex, Germany.
