INVISTA’s CORDURA® Brand Team Wraps Up 45th Anniversary Year of Celebration With Launch of New Workwear Fabric Innovations at Expoprotection Show
Brand Culminates ‘Decades of Durability’ Campaign by Showcasing New Fabric Adoptions and the Debut of CORDURA® Naturalle™ Fabrics to the Workwear Industry
INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team celebrates ‘Decades of Durability’ at this year’s Expoprotection 2012 Trade Fair Dec. 4-7 in Paris, France, showcasing the wide array of workwear fabric technologies including the debut of its latest CORDURA® Naturalle™ fabric collection. Also on display will be new products featuring innovative CORDURA® Denim, NYCO and Classic fabrics by leading workwear brands such as Blåkläder, Cofra, Dassy, and F. Engel.

For 45 years, CORDURA® brand fabric has been recognized as a fabric of choice for products where durability counts. In line with the CORDURA® brand team's “Decades of Durability” 45th anniversary, the brand is introducing its innovative range of CORDURA® Naturalle™ fabrics into the workwear segment, as well as expanding its ‘Comfortably Durable’ CORDURA® NYCO fabric line from Malaysian based Penfabric. The CORDURA® Naturalle™ line of fabrics are based on full dull nylon 6.6 yarn constructions that look and feel like natural fiber based fabrics yet still incorporate the exceptional abrasion, tensile and tear strength for which the brand is known. CORDURA® Naturalle™ fabrics provide stylish durability without sacrificing functionality in performance.
The CORDURA® NYCO fabric workwear portfolio from Penfabric has been specifically developed to provide exceptional durability and comfort characteristics to garment designs. The range currently includes eight fabrics, each in an intimate blend of 75 percent cotton and 25 percent high strength INVISTA T420 nylon 6,6. The fibres are staple in nature and intimately blended in both the warp and weft direction. The Penfabric CORDURA® NYCO fabric collection is currently available in twill and canvas constructions with weights of 245g/m2, 325g/m2 and 380g/m2.
Ideally suited for jackets, trousers, jeans, and everything in between—the comprehensive CORDURA® fabric Workwear Collection will offer customers a vast array of performance driven, versatile and trend-conscious styling options. All these options include the built-in durability of CORDURA® fabric to seamlessly transfer these products from tough working environments to everyday streetwear.
Featured on this year’s CORDURA® brand Expoprotection stand will be key fabric adoptions by leading workwear brands including:
- Blåkläder CORDURA® Denim fabric trousers -X1500 workwear trouser and new 1959 urban trouser: Specifically developed as a more durable alternative to established 100 percent cotton denim fabrics, the CORDURA® Denim fabric featured in the X1500 Blåkläder Denim Trouser and 1959 urban trouser has a 3x1 twill construction and weighs 375 gsm. It is composed of 12 percent high tenacity INVISTA T420 nylon 6,6 fibre and 88 percent cotton.
- Cofra Stretch CORDURA® Denim fabric workwear jean: The durable stretch CORDURA® Denim fabric used in the new jeans from Italian workwear brand Cofra features INVISTA’S LYCRA® fiber for added comfort and stretch.
- DASSY DNA Collection: The new DASSY DNA collection equals Durable, Noticeable and Adaptable workwear and features the extremely hardwearing CORDURA® Classic fabric used as reinforcements in essential areas for exceptional durability.
- F. Engel TECH ZONE by WorkZone™ Collection: Danish garment maker, F. Engel’s, eye-catching TECH ZONE by WorkZone™ range features Klopman Vantage fabric using CORDURA® NYCO fabric technology. With an emphasis on comfort and performance, Klopman Vantage CORDURA® NYCO fabric utilizes a blend of 50/50 cotton and high tenacity INVISTA T420 nylon 6.6 to deliver a durable and comfortable alternative to established polyester/cotton workwear fabrics.
