INVISTA and first responders team up for safety training
INVISTA recently hosted safety preparedness training sessions with the New Hanover and Pender County Fire Departments as well as the Wilmington Fire and Regional Response HAZMAT team. The semi-annual sessions are part of the site’s ongoing commitment to environmental, health and safety excellence.
“Holding safety preparedness training sessions helps assure first responders will be familiar with our site should the need arise,” said Jeff Randolph, site manager. “We find great value in these opportunities to share knowledge and best practices with our local first responders—their ongoing dedication to serving our community is commendable.”
During a site tour, the teams reviewed current safety procedures at the site and updates to the fire protection system. INVISTA also donated safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and hazmat suits, to New Hanover County Fire Services for use at the Cape Fear Community College fire training center.
“Initiating safety preparedness meetings each year demonstrates INVISTA’s continued commitment to safety,” said Donnie Hall, Fire Chief, New Hanover County Fire Services. “Being familiar with a site and its systems helps improve our response times and helps keep personnel safe. We appreciate INVISTA’s ongoing support of our operations.”
