Tandus Flooring and Bentley Prince Street Honored with First ANTRON® Match™ Marketing Innovation Award

INVISTA, maker of Antron® carpet fiber, and Contract Magazine presented the first Antron® MATCH™ Marketing Innovation Award to Tandus Flooring and Bentley Prince Street during a gala ceremony at The Resort at Pelican Hill® in California.  This new award recognizes commercial interior manufacturers’ innovative marketing programs and practices that have “matched” an unmet need or improved a design process for their customers.  Entries were judged on the innovation of the tool or service used in the product launch or marketing program, marketing techniques used in the campaign and the success of the program with the intended audience.

“Manufacturers are developing innovative marketing programs that enable customers to streamline the design process and focus on creative and strategic design,” said Tracy Cook, director of global branding, INVISTA Commercial Flooring.  “The new Antron® MATCH™ Marketing Innovation Award gives us a way to recognize them for their creativity and successful development of effective design tools and programs that have been embraced by architects and interior designers.”

Grand Prize Winner: Tandus Flooring for the Sustainable Portfolio System

Tandus Flooring received the Grand Prize for its new Sustainable Portfolio System, comprised of reusable and recyclable portfolios made with recycled content and new friction-based tray technology that allows samples to pop in and out without glue, Velcro or metal.  Additionally, Tandus Flooring switched from conventional printing to a laser technology etching method, which lowers costs, resources and energy, and also eliminates print screens and UV dryers.  Laser etching also allows for easy replacement of stickers in the event the portfolios are recycled for a new style.

Accordion-style literature is more ergonomic and versatile, and requires less energy to produce. The shelf life of the Sustainable Portfolio System may be extended as samples are easily replaced and updated, reducing packaging, freight and raw materials.

At the end of its first life, the portfolio system is returned and reused for another style. Tandus Flooring recycles the old samples, adds a new label to the spine and inserts new samples and literature. If the books are ever abused beyond reuse, Tandus Flooring also pays to have then shipped back its facility, where the entire portfolio is recycled, repurposed and reused.  The carpet samples are taken to Tandus Floorings’ SCS-certified recycling facility.

Merit Winner: Bentley Prince Street for Product e∙guides™

INVISTA awarded the Merit Prize to Bentley Prince Street for its launch of a virtual version of live sample books for its entire running line collection called Product e∙guides™.  The Product e∙guides™ are created specifically for the iPad® as a presentation tool with the intention of helping sales representatives and clients can sort through products more efficiently and sustainably.

Each Product e∙guide™ emulates the carpet and content inside of running-line product sample books, including installation photography, color line swatches, product specifications, installation recommendations featuring three new tile sizes, inspiration and story, and editorial photography. All images are high resolution and may be zoomed in on to see the vibrant fibers, colors and texture of each product that is clearer than if a customer was holding a physical carpet sample in hand.

Judges for the Antron® Carpet Fiber MATCH™ Marketing Award were Sonya Dufner of Gensler, Eileen Goodman of Moody Nolan, Inc., Gillian Johnson of BURKETT DESIGN, Clay Pendergrast of HOK and Paulla Shetterly of CDH Partners.
