INVISTA promotes fire prevention awareness in local community
INVISTA promoted fire prevention awareness in the local community at the “Prevent fire in the community – Build a safe home” activity jointly organized by the Qingpu District Public Security Bureau and Qingpu District Fire Department, in conjunction with National Fire Safety Day. The activity also kicked-off the Qingpu district fire station’s 25th "1-1-9 fire safety week" campaign.
Through interactive quizzes and a fire-fighting drill, INVISTA employee volunteers and firefighters raised awareness among local residents about fire safety.
“Shanghai’s Qingpu District is an important manufacturing and Research & Development base for INVISTA,” said Gary Knight, global Operations vice president of INVISTA Apparel & Advanced Textiles, at the event’s opening ceremony. “As one of the major international enterprises in the Qingpu District, we are pleased to work with community residents to share knowledge about fire safety practices.”
INVISTA pursues its sustainability vision through continuous efforts in improving environmental, health and safety performance; supporting effective local stewardship initiatives; and encouraging employee involvement in causes that enhance the quality of life in the community.
This activity is part of INVISTA's “Qingpu Good Neighbor” community program. Launched in 2012 by INVISTA’s manufacturing sites in Qingpu district, it promotes environmental, health and safety awareness to local residents.
