INVISTA Donates Fabrics to Secretary of Youth Issues in Paulínia
Action aims to contribute to the development of the community
INVISTA, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, continues to contribute to the community development in Paulínia, Brazil. On Aug. 31, INVISTA delivered 500 kilograms of SUPPLEX® fabric and fabric containing LYCRA® fiber, to Secretary of Youth issues (SECA). INVISTA manufactured the donated fabrics at its Paulínia and Americana sites.
SECA and Turism (STE), governmental organizations in Paulina, jointly participated in a project that gave children from low-income families in Paulinia the opportunity to enjoy a craft activity. In the activity, the children used INVISTA’s donated fabrics, along with other provided materials like carpet, to decorate Christmas ornaments made from recycled material. The children plan to sell their ornaments at a local craft fair.
INVISTA believes that contributing to these projects will incentivize new initiatives that contribute to the socialization and education of young people in the Paulínia community.
Ângela Vedovello, president of INVISTA’s Community Advisory Council in Paulínia, suggested contributing to the SECA and STE project.
“The Community Advisory Council has more than 18 years of existence; it’s always striving to contribute to community development and to increase children’s awareness of environmental issues,” said Vedovello. “In addition to creating valued products essentials to the society, one of our roles is to contribute to the development of the communities in which we operate.”
