TERATHANE® glycols is the registered trademark for the INVISTA brand of chemical intermediates for producing polyurethane materials used in highly demanding applications. TERATHANE® is a versatile building block for polymer formulators. In combination with other ingredients, it forms a wide variety of polyurethanes, polyesters and polyamide elastomers. TERATHANE® provides superior performance in applications where properties such as hydrolysis resistance, microbe resistance, resilience, low temperature flexibility and abrasion resistance are required.

Typical end uses include:

• Spandex fibers including LYCRA® stretch fibers
• Castable polyurethanes: Caster wheels, industrial tires, skate wheels, rolls and roll covers, mining screens, industrial belts
• Thermoplastic polyurethanes: Ski boots, transparent films for laminating, cable jacketing, hot-melt coatings, hoses and medical tubing.
• Polyurethane coatings: Protective coatings, fabric and leather coatings, artificial leather, tank and pipe liners
• Polyurethane adhesives and sealants
