INVISTA Scholarship, Talent Forum at South China University of Technology cultivates local talent
INVISTA, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers, awarded scholarships to 22 students from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at South China University of Technology (SCUT) during the school’s annual opening ceremony. Established in 2014, the INVISTA Encouragement Scholarship aims to encourage high-performing SCUT chemical engineering undergraduate and graduate students by supporting their studies to develop into the next generation of chemical industry professionals.
At a separate talent development forum, INVISTA employees who are SCUT alumni discussed with students the importance of having talented professionals in the industry. They also shared their experiences in putting their studies to work at a chemical company.
“INVISTA appreciates its relationship with South China University of Technology to share our unique values and beliefs with students at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, i.e., striving for environmental excellence and being committed to protecting the environment and the safety and health of its workers and others; using resources more efficiently; consistently applying good science; and employing Market-Based Management® principles. We believe those ideas are crucial to cultivating practitioners in the chemical industry,” said Julie Walton, INVISTA Asia Pacific Government & Public Affairs director.
