Local fire department teams up with INVISTA for safety preparedness
Company donation to Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department supports first responders
The Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department toured INVISTA’s Precision Concepts manufacturing facility in Martinsville to better understand the facility’s risk areas and review best practices and new technology.
“Preparing first responders like the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department is an important part of our company’s commitment to safety,” said Tim Coble, site manager. “These firefighters routinely volunteer their time to make sure they are prepared to respond in an emergency. We applaud their dedication to serving this community.”
While on site, the firefighters identified locations of critical fire systems and cutoff valves and noted recent improvements to the site’s fire prevention capabilities. Providing site tours for first responders can help improve response times in the event of an actual emergency and keep personnel safe. INVISTA also presented Fire Chief Cotton Trent with a donation to support ongoing operations at the fire department.
“Touring the INVISTA site in a non-emergency setting allows us to have advance plans in place should we be called to respond to an event later on,” said Chief Trent. “We appreciate INVISTA’s preparedness, commitment to safety, and ongoing support of our organization.”
