INVISTA Completes Nylon 6 Business Acquisition in Asia-Pacific Wilmington, DE. (July, 2007) – – INVISTA successfully completed the acquisition of the assets of Honeywell's nylon 6 bulked continuous filament (BCF) business in Asia-Pacific, including its plant in Shanghai, China. The transaction was completed on June 29, via INVISTA Synthetic Fiber (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in the Peoples Republic of China. "The plant in Shanghai has technical capabilities and operational resources complementary to INVISTA's plan of enhancing the value we provide to our customers in the Asia-Pacific region," said Dan Stone, president of INVISTA Interiors. INVISTA plans to integrate the production and marketing of type 6 nylon BCF into its business offering in Asia-Pacific. This will expand the comprehensive portfolio of branded, differentiated and unbranded nylon BCF offerings to customers in this region for the commercial, residential, transportation and rug segments. "Our management philosophy, referred to as Market Based Management®, focuses on changes and actions that best drive real value creation and long term growth," said William Yeoh, vice president of INVISTA Interiors Asia-Pacific. No financial details were announced. The acquisition indicates INVISTA's commitment to growth. "We will continue to focus tremendous energy on finding even more opportunities to meet the growing needs in China, elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world," said Stone. INVISTA currently owns or operates (independently or in ventures) 12 manufacturing facilities producing a variety of products across Asia, including Singapore, Taiwan and China.
