23rd Antron® Carpet Fiber Design Awards Finalists Announced
Top Commercial Designs and Carpet Styles to be Honored at Awards Event

Kennesaw, GA (January 31, 2008) - INVISTA Performance Surfaces & Materials today announced the finalists for the 23rd Antron® carpet fiber Design Award, including the 8th Antron® carpet fiber Product Innovation Award and the 4th Antron® carpet fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance Award competitions. The award distinctions will be announced at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco the evening of Thursday, April 24, 2008.

The 23rd Antron® carpet fiber Design Award showcases designers who set new standards of creativity in commercial interior design through the innovative use of carpet. The entries for this category are judged on creativity and originality of the carpet application; overall design creativity and originality; and how well the design met the client's business objectives and challenges. The finalists for the 23rd Antron® carpet fiber Design Award include Cohos Evamy integratedesign™ (Edmonton, Alberta) for PCL Centennial Learning Centre, Corgan Associates (Dallas) for Rent-A-Center Headquarters, Durrant (Minneapolis) for Cue Restaurant & Bar in the Guthrie Theater, EwingCole (Philadelphia) for Liberty Science Center, Gensler (San Francisco) for Allsteel San Francisco Resource Center and Chemoil, Gensler (Seattle) for Office of the Attorney General of Washington State, HOK (Culver City, Calif.) for AOL, Looney Ricks Kiss Architects, Inc. (Memphis, Tenn.) for OrthoMemphis PC and Perkins Eastman (New York) for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The 8th Antron® carpet fiber Product Innovation Award honors carpet mills whose products excelled in style, aesthetics, color and usage in the marketplace. The entries for this category are judged on creativity, design and originality, as well as the techniques used for the carpet's design. Finalists for the Antron® carpet fiber Product Innovation Award include Atlas Carpet Mills, Inc. for "Avant Garde Collection" and "Mod Squad Collection," Lees Carpets for "Menswear Collection," Shaw Contract Group for "Silk Collection" and Tandus for "Line Dance."

The 4th Antron® carpet fiber Sustainable Flooring Performance Award recognizes sustainable practices through the use of performance-driven flooring choices in commercial applications. Entries are judged on how well the original carpet selection continued to meet the client's performance and design objectives, and the ability of the design to meet the client's business objectives and challenges over time as a result of sustainable material selection. Finalists for this award will not be announced in advance of the awards ceremony.

Judges for the Antron® carpet fiber Design Award competitions are: Carol Jones, principal for Kasian Architecture Interior Design & Planning LTD.; Tama Duffy Day, principal for Perkins + Will; Eric Engstrom, founder of EDG Interior Architecture + Design; Richard N. Pollack, CEO of POLLACK Architecture; and Richard A. Carlson, principal for Swanke Hayden Connell Architects.
