Brian Nixon Named Site Manager of INVISTA’s Seaford Operations
With 21 years of business and operations experience, Nixon assumes leadership at Seaford
Brian Nixon—who is currently serving as site operations manager at INVISTA’s Chattanooga, Tenn. plant—will become site manager of INVISTA’s Seaford facility, effective Jan. 16, 2012.
“Nixon’s operations and business management experience have positioned him well to assume leadership of the Seaford site,” said Ben Melnyczuk, vice president of operations, INVISTA Performance Surfaces & Materials.
Steve Kimpton, the current site manager, will be moving to Kingston, Ontario, Canada to serve as site manager of INVISTA’s Kingston site.
Nixon earned a bachelor of arts in economics and a bachelor of arts in business management from North Carolina State University. Prior to his recent role as site operations manager at Chattanooga, Brian has held various operations and business roles of increasing responsibility at the company’s locations in Seaford and Wilmington, Del.; Kinston, N.C; and Chattanooga, Tenn.
“After my previous seven years of experience in Delaware, I am excited to return to the state with its wonderful people and communities,” Nixon stated. “I look forward to working with my Seaford colleagues to continue keeping the site prosperous and safe and creating real long term value for INVISTA and the customers we serve.”
Located on approximately 648 acres adjacent to the Seaford Golf and Country Club and the Nanticoke River. INVISTA’s Seaford site was the world’s first nylon plant when it opened in 1939. The plant produces staple fiber for U.S. Military uniforms and chemical-resistant clothing for the military; for tennis ball, pool table coverings, and gaming felts; and for conveyer belts used in paper manufacturing.
