Local volunteer firefighters find spark of assistance
INVISTA donates to Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department to help serve community
In order to help the local volunteer fire department meet its growing needs, INVISTA made a donation to help provide the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department with flame-resistant turnout gear.
“Oftentimes these volunteers are the first responders in our community, and they provide a tremendous benefit,” said Tim Coble, INVISTA site manager. “We applaud their dedication and commitment to serving Martinsville and thank the volunteers’ families for their support.”
In the event that INVISTA may require the department’s assistance, eight volunteer firefighters toured its Precision Concepts manufacturing site to better understand the facility’s risk areas and how to navigate the building.
Jim Cassel, INVISTA environmental, health and safety manager, added, “INVISTA provides employees with safety trainings and has strong safety procedures in place. One of those procedures is to make sure first responders are knowledgeable of our facility so that we don’t put more people at risk. The Ridgeway volunteers continue to impress us with their capabilities.”
In Martinsville, INVISTA Precision Concepts manufactures micron-tolerance machined parts for the textile, aerospace and medical industries. The site’s specialized equipment can machine a range of performance alloys including aluminum, titanium, gold and platinum. More information can be found at PrecisionConcepts.INVISTA.com.
