INVISTA continues contributions to local United Way in 2017
INVISTA has renewed its commitment to the community through its continued support of the United Way of Kershaw County (UWKC). Along with a $10,000 INVISTA corporate donation and $114,476 employee pledge, the UWKC is receiving more than 28,700 square feet of STAINMASTER® carpet, which will be used by several of the organization’s partner agencies and in housing for the homeless.
“We value the lasting partnership between INVISTA and the United Way,” said Steve Kimpton, INVISTA Camden site manager. “The human services that the UWKC and its partner agencies provide to the surrounding communities are invaluable. We are humbled to be able to assist in a new and unique way with this carpet donation.”
“I am repeatedly amazed by the giving spirit of INVISTA,” said Donny Supplee, UWKC president. “From the employees as individuals who give so generously of their time, energy and resources, to the corporate giving nature of INVISTA. The giving culture and spirit shine once again through this recent donation of carpet to our United Way—and, by extension, to our partner agencies.”
The in-kind carpet donation will be used for flooring in new Habitat for Humanity homes and will also be distributed to UWKC partner organizations. All of the donated carpet was manufactured at the INVISTA Camden site, which is the sole producer of STAINMASTER® products in the U.S.
“INVISTA’s donation of STAINMASTER carpet will directly impact our United Way by carpeting several of our transitional homes,” Supplee said. “Our community and partner agencies will receive the benefit of fine carpeting at the Family Resource Center, Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, and Habitat for Humanity.”
INVISTA Camden is located on approximately 1,100 acres and produces nylon polymer and fiber for products such as STAINMASTER® carpet, ANTRON® carpet fiber and fiber used in the automotive industry. INVISTA Camden is also committed to EHS excellence, as evidenced by its Wildlife at Work recertification from the Wildlife Habitat Council for maintaining wildlife habitat on its property.
