INVISTA’s Kyle Redinger granted 2017 Shanghai Magnolia Silver Award

SHANGHAI - Sept. 18, 2017 - Mr. Kyle Redinger, vice president of INVISTA Intermediates, Asia Pacific, was granted the 2017 Shanghai "Magnolia Silver Award" in recognition of his contribution to Shanghai city. The "Magnolia Silver Award" was first launched in 1989 and is among the highest honours a foreigner can received in the city. To date, just over 1,000 foreigners have received the award.

The Shanghai "Magnolia Silver Award" is given by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government to encourage and honour foreigners who contribute significantly to Shanghai economic and social development, international communication and in other aspects annually. It is an important reflection of the diverse spirit in Shanghai. In 2017, only 50 foreigners received the award.

Mr. Redinger has worked in Shanghai for more than 5 years. In 2015, he was assigned vice president of INVISTA Intermediates, Asia Pacific, to promote the development of advanced technologies and services in intermediates and polymers in the Asia Pacific region. INVISTA’s newest HMD and nylon 6,6 polymer facilities successfully started up in 2016 in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) and is one of the key investment projects at SCIP in recent years.

The new 215,000-ton hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant and 150,000-ton polymer plant can advance the usage of nylon 6,6 in air bags, automobile parts, carpet, workout apparel, outdoor equipment and promote the development of China's entire nylon 6,6 downstream value chain.

Meanwhile, Mr. Redinger shares the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility. He encourages employee involvement in projects that enhance the overall quality of life in the communities where INVISTA operates.

"I am honoured to achieve this Magnolia award. It’s a great recognition for our contribution to Shanghai economic development, chemical industry development and corporate social responsibilities. The award reflects all the hard work and dedication of my Shanghai colleagues and those who support us globally across INVISTA," said Mr. Redinger.
